Our 
Story

Welly was created to inspire, motivate, and encourage others by action. Hi, my name is Tanja Akerman, the founder and instructor of Welly Academy, and I'm going to be real with you.

 

I started this company because I wasn't happy or satisfied with my corporate career. Each day felt like a repetition of the last, and I realized I wasn’t inspired to try new things or take care of my health. Stuck in a rut and feeling a growing sense of discontent, I knew change was my only option.

 

So, I did something bold. I quit my job.

 

I had no idea what I was going to do next or how I was going to build something meaningful. Instead of trying to figure it all out overnight, I focused on my health and starting my journey of knowledge. 

 

It was during this journey of self-discovery that I found my passion for fitness. Fitness wasn’t just about moving my body; it was about pushing myself to new levels, listening to my body, adjusting, and becoming someone who inspired me. This transformation made me realize that I wanted to help others experience the same joy and fulfillment.

 

Now, I’m here, teaching the sweetest people around the world to never give up and never settle. At Welly Academy, we believe in the power of perseverance and the importance of caring for oneself. Through our programs, we empower individuals to push their limits, listen to their bodies, and ultimately become their own source of inspiration.

With a portfolio boasting 50 health and fitness certifications and over 10 years of coaching experience, Tanja offers a results-driven approach to fitness. She inspires a mindset shift, helping clients focus on the bigger picture of health and well-being for a longer and happier life.
